The swish pattern is one of the more interesting processes that can be used for behavioral change. It works very well for habits that don't involve limiting beliefs, like is many times the case for simple habits like biting of the nails or drinking too much coffee. It is sometimes also appropriate for overeating, smoking, and drinking excess alcohol. The swish pattern uses submodalities such as the size and brightness of an image, combined with an image of the desired self to clear out old responses and chain them to the desired self.
The swish pattern works so fast and so well sometimes that it is quite fascinating. Sometimes it is the perfect thing to do. There is ecology built in when gathering the positive intentions of the habit and developing a desired self with just the right attributes, and in the right context it is very elegant.
